''Thanks to our customers, we get to do our dream job every single day. To continue doing this, we ask a price that reflects the value of our small pieces of art — but never more than what is necessary. It is because of this honest pricing that we are where we are today''.
So who we think we are?
At Henri Bolt, we want to make clothing that is affordable, although affordable is, of course, a relative concept. We do not make clothing to generate high profits. Thanks to our customers, we get to do our dream job every single day. To continue doing this, we ask a price that reflects the value of our small pieces of art but never more than what is necessary. It is precisely because of this honest pricing that we are where we are today.
Our prices
Our prices range from €20 to €150. Based on our quality, we know we could charge much higher prices today. However, we consciously choose to remain in the price category of some larger retail chains. The only thing is that we produce high-quality, unique pieces in small quantities.
-We are never done learning. Clothing can always contain mistakes, and when that happens, we will always take our responsibility-
The industry
The price of clothing will always be an interesting topic. In the end, every brand can decide for itself what a garment should cost. What it really comes down to is what we as consumers have come to see as normal. There are brands that sell a T-shirt for €400, and there are fast fashion sellers sell a T-shirt for €5. In our opinion, neither is necessarily right or wrong, everyone makes their own choices in that.
But...
We know our industry, and because of that we also know that extremely low prices almost always mean compromises are made in quality, materials, and longevity. That is the system of fast fashion, and it’s not something we want to be part of.
To expensive?
On the other hand, people often complain that clothing is “too expensive.” What many people forget is that the price of a garment is made up of much more than just production costs. Think of development, sampling, staff, transport, storage, office expenses, marketing, and sometimes retail margins. But there is one element that is often forgotten: the value of the design and the brand itself.
''Why is a Picasso painting worth more than the exact same painting made by an unknown artist? Because value is not only in materials and hours, but also in vision, creativity, and name''.
Quick money
We are often asked why we don’t bring in investors or raise our prices to grow faster. The answer is simple: we don’t want investors or interest costs to drive up our consumer prices. We have been self-funded from day one, and that is exactly what has created a strong and healthy foundation for our brand.
Is it possible that our prices will increase in the future? Yes, that is possible. But we want you to know that a price increase will never be to simply increase our profits, only to make sure we can continue to exist as an independent brand.
Thanks to you, we get to do what we love.
With love,
The Henri Bolt Team
